Using the trace tool, you can trace the image.
Step 4: You can choose how you want to trace the image by clicking Image Trace.
A High Fidelity Photo will give you the closest look to the original image. A Low Fidelity Photo will give you a cartoonish appearance.

To view the tracing result, click the small panel icon. You can open the panel from the overhead menu Window > Image Trace if your AI version does not show this option.

You can edit the image by ungrouping it. You may delete the background so that only the bird remains. Simply click the Delete key after selecting the unwanted area to delete it or use the Eraser Tool.

Step 7: An entirely new layer mask will appear containing your vector.
Step 8: The file can now be saved in the EPS file format and edited in any vector graphics application. It does not matter where or how the vector is placed or printed since the file format makes everything easy.
